Early Life and Education

Originally from Athlone, Dr. Keaney pursued his medical education at University College Dublin (UCD), graduating with honors in 2004. During his postgraduate training, he was awarded a Newman Fellowship from UCD, dedicating two years to research at the Mater Hospital. This period was instrumental in shaping his future contributions to cardiology.

Advanced Training and Fellowship

Dr. Keaney completed a two-year fellowship in advanced cardiac electrophysiology at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) in Boston, the largest teaching hospital of Harvard Medical School. This experience provided him with exposure to cutting-edge techniques and research in cardiac care.

Upon returning to Ireland, Dr. Keaney assumed his current roles at Blackrock Clinic and Mater University Hospital.
